New location, new setup

December 22, 2007

We moved house in August and are still sorting through many things but my music and sound system is beginning to settle down. The end-of-2007 setup includes: Logic 8, Metasynth 4 Pro, Ableton Live 6, gleetchlab 2.3, Reason 4, ixiQuarks and various plug-ins and editors. My newest sound projects include a remix/mashup of Karl Bartos’ ‘Esperanto’ album tracks for his forthcoming virtual exhibition, and new Lagowski and S.E.T.I. tracks. Hoping to digitise some very old Nagamatzu cassettes and VHS video for the new year….should be fun! In the meantime, Mrs Lags and I will be enjoying the new TGV box set and CARTERTUTTI album :-)

Geomatic remix

May 7, 2007

Another remix project which I finished last week was for Geomatic. They are two Lithuanian guys living and working in Amsterdam, who have a new album coming out later this year on the M-Tronic label. It’s powerful music and recorded to the highest quality, so will be well worth getting hold of.

‘Red Sector A’ remixes

March 29, 2007

I’ve just completed two remixes for Red Sector A (a.k.a. Andrea Bellucci)’s next album, using Ableton Live 6. He’s very happy with them – you can check out RSA’s info here.

Ableton Mashup 4 – DLL Mix 2

September 18, 2006

This rocks
Play it loud :-)

DLL mix 1

September 2, 2006

DLL mix 1 is a track that was bashed together in Ableton Live 5. It uses snatches of Hebrew and Cantonese dialogue, a DLL file converted into audio with Audacity, some NASA guys talking, the Live 5 drum box ‘Impulse’ and maybe one or two effects :-p

This is the first quick mix to see how the elements fit together.

First Ableton Live experiment

June 4, 2006

I Show Good Bit is my first experiment with Ableton Live 5, mixing various beats and samples from my collection. It uses voices from Apollo 13, the Space Shuttle and beats/sequences from Reason 3.
