After over a year of collaboration, digital file exchange and solid determination, the magical union of Geomatic and Lagowski announce the release of their first audio collection, entitled ‘Cosmochemistry’. It is a result of their joint fascination with deep space, secret science and unknown forces that sees this perfect melding of deep beats, ultra low bass sequences and cinema grade atmospherics come to fruition.
There are many layers, seen and unseen, heard and yet to be heard, that exist in the multidimensional universe around us. Cosmochemical engineering fuses with ancient indecipherable codes via rhythm, texture and masked auditory stimuli. There are myriad dimensions we have yet to cross into. The ciphers to traversing these thresholds lie within the cinematic sound of Geomatic/Lagowski.
You will know Geomatic from their recent monumental works ‘Blue Beam’ on the French M-tronic label and ‘64 Light Years Away’ on the Tympanik Audio imprint. Previous to that, they released ‘Control Agents’ on Triumvirate.
Lagowski has released over 25 albums and ten 12” singles since 1987, under his own name and as S.E.T.I., Legion and as one half of Nagamatzu.
‘Cosmochemistry’ is available NOW as a digital download from all of the major download sites such as iTunes, Google Play Store, Amazon…..
Mastered by Dominique at Wolf Studios in Brixton, South London.
A CD version with two extra tracks will be released later in 2013 by the M-tronic label.
Recorded at Mission Control Studio, South London, 1995. This special version includes three bonus studio tracks, live photo’s from WGT 2012 and an original MIDI file from 18th May 1995 for ‘Dunwich’. Rename it from .txt to .mid to import it into your workstation and play around.
Stephen Jarvis of VII Sins has created a great video cut up for my 1988 track ‘USA v LHO’ from ‘Nadir’. You can view it here and get the album for only $4 here at Bandcamp
After a query from a certain ‘Gaston Grimsdyke’, I decided to search out all of the tracks I created in 2001 as muzak for the ISS (International Space Station). They are now available as a digital album, to be played loud and enjoyed for the experimental beasts that they are.
LAGOWSKI PRESENTS LEGION – False Dawn – 2CD album

LAGOWSKI presents LEGION – False Dawn 2CD
(20th Anniversary Expanded Edition)
out on 14.10.2012
20 years on, this dusty classic has gained a well deserved reissue. The new mastering was prepared by Łukasz Miernik (responsible for his excellent work on “From Earth to Sirius” compilation containing a track by S.E.T.I. – another Andrew Lagowski side-project) and the cover was redesigned by Maciej Mehring (who has done most of Zoharum’s cover designs).
It has been expanded to include 7 rare/unreleased bonus tracks and has been adorned with an additional part entitled “False Dawn Revisited”. The latter contains remixes of the three original tracks by Geomatic, Zenial and Maciek Szymczuk. These two additional sections give you a different perspective on “False Dawn” and LEGION’s ambient stylistics. Here it is… False Dawn… to be discovered… again.
The reissue is presented in a 2CD edition in a luxurious 6-panel digipak.
Thought I’d better update you on what’s going on at Camp Lagowski. On 22nd May 2012, there will be a Lagowski techno performance at Superdeluxe club in Roppongi, Tokyo, with Sunao Inami and others. On 28th May 2012, my dark ambient project ‘Legion’ will have its final performance at the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig. You can get more regular updates by visiting the ‘Andrew Lagowski Presents Legion’ page at Facebook, which is accessible via the Links page. Both shows will have new DVD material presented. Later this year (in October or November) I will be doing a S.E.T.I. performance in a church in Wuppertal, as presented by Martin of Phelios fame. Really looking forward to that one
Also later this year, hopefully in September, Legion’s debut album ‘False Dawn’ celebrates its 20th anniversary re-release as a double CD with remixes and hard to find Legion tracks. All of the remixes have been done and mastering is due to take place in Poland in June.
This year, we are also due to see the re-pressing of Nagamatzu’s ‘Sacred Islands of the Mad’ vinyl LP on Dark Entries records, thanks to the fantastic response by fans of dark shoegazing neo wave, whatever you want to call it.
Finally, a very exciting album project is underway with some great musician friends of mine. At the moment, this is top secret, but the sound is very deep and powerful and I think you’ll be blown away by the tracks when this project sees the light of day. We’ve been exchanging tracks via FTP and reworking each other’s sounds until we’re happy that the perfect dark hybrid has surfaced.
